Controversy On Match Fees To Be Paid to National Cricketers for Champions Cup 2024

The national cricketers who are expected to take part in the Champions Cup 2024 is still in the dark on their match fees. The tournament starting in Faisalabad this Thursday will involve leading Pakistani cricketers but questions regarding their fees have not been settled yet.

Individual players with national central contracts would be paid half of what they ‘ll be paid for an international game for the Champions Cup 2024. Earlier players used to get Rs644,620 per one One-day Match which included Rs322,310 Match Fee. However, in absence of a new deal, players will be paid domestic match fees for Champions Cup 2024 event which is anyway slated to occur outside the Pakistan domestic cricket season.

Players representing domestic cricket in Pakistan get paid Rs60,000 for the Pakistan Cup One-Day Tournament while member without playing gets Rs20,000.

Subsequently, the mentors of the Champions Cup 2024 which include; Waqar Younis, Misbah-ul-Haq, Shoaib Malik, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Saqlain Mushtaq were to receive a one-time amount totaling to 5 Million Rupees each provided they served during the tournament. But the PCB has now hired these mentors for the next three years under which they will get a monthly remuneration of Rs. 5 million.

These after Champions Cup 2024 will go on training new players at academies while others will be in charge of talent scouting camps. As a result, they will earn figure out more than some main cricketers like Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan who earlier were receiving Rs4. 5 million per month for the large volume of retail food products under their central contracts.
