PCB Chairman’s Vision for Pakistan Champions Cup: Improving Quality for Talent Advancement

PCB Chairman, Naqvi has recently met with the mentors of five teams participating Pakistan Champions Cup. Naqvi agreed to enhance pitch and ground conditions from the feedback by those mentors.

Old players have been replaced to develop new talents who serve as backups for the national cricket team in all forms of the game as Naqvi said. Mentors who were present include Misbah ul Haq of the Wolves, Shoaib Malik of the Stallions, Wasim Akram of the Lions, Sarfaraz of the Dolphins and Saqlain Mushtaq of the Panthers.

The mentors concluded the session by suggesting ideas for improvements of the facilities available in Iqbal Stadium. Naqvi without any delay asked the Director of Domestic Cricket and Director of High Performance to respond to these recommendations.

He said that he has confidence that such combined effort will turn the Pakistan Champions Cup into a national stature tournament in which the players will have the same practice sessions and gymnasium as the top level.

Our Lahore correspondent reports: As the new tournament of Pakistan Champions Cup is scheduled to start from September 12, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi came for the satisfactory sight seeing of Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad. Wolves and the Panthers will be in the opening match of the event.

These all areas included ground, spectator post, and whenever Naqvi saw players have some practice sessions. He specifically focused on the issues related to perfect arrangements so that fans of cricket could be given the best of the experiences. This creating awareness about the brand Pakistan Champions Cup through this tournament, that introduces senior competitive cricket to Faisalabad city. A prominent part of this large endeavor are the mentors.
