The second day of the first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh will start 15-minute earlier from its original time. In Pakistan, Test matches usually begin at 10:00 AM local time and 10:30 IST but after heavy overs were lost on Day1, the officials have decided for an early start to recover those relaying hours.
Rain and a wet outfield delayed the start till 2:30 PM local time, with approximately 41 overs bowled on Day 1. A natural consequence of winning the toss and fielding in tough overcast conditions, Bangladesh had Pakistan 16 for three inside nine overs.
Pakistan did lose the wickets of Saim Ayub and Saud Shakeel early, but they were able to steady their chase through a 98-run fourth-wicket partnership between them. Ayub scored 49 but fell soon after, while Shakeel remained solid and was supported well by Mohammad Rizwan.
At the end of day one, Pakistan were 158-4 and would be happy to make a solid display on Day2 first session. Bangladesh, on the other hand will look to break through soon and aim at Pakistan’s middle order bunch. And if Pakistan goes past 300 in their first innings then the visitors will find it tough as there would be some assistance on offer for the bowlers from both teams.
