The toss for the first match in Pakistan vs Bangladesh series, which was supposed to take place on Wednesday at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium has been delayed because of wet outfield. The field was left damp due to overnight rain and umpires Richard Kettleborough (England) and Adrian Holdstock (South Africa) decided to delay the toss for the first match of Pakistan vs Bangladesh series.
The match will be started soon possible with clear blue skies and sunshine shining down on Rawalpindi after the early stutter. The two-match series is part of the World Test Championship (WTC) third cycle (2023-2025), featuring nine teams. At the moment, Pakistan is at sixth whereas Bangladesh lies on eight position in WTC table.
The second Test is also scheduled to be played at Rawalpindi, from August 30 (Karachi was chosen for the match but had to change as its stadium remains under construction)
All-rounder Aamer Jamal has been left out of the playing XI for their first Test against Bangladesh. After impressing with a debut in Pakistan’s last series here, fast bowler Aamer has dropped out of the squad altogether for fitness reasons. Aamer Aziz (24) was initially named in the squad “subject to fitness clearance” after being advised to work on his conditioning at Pakistan Cricket Board’s National nCricket Academy prior to recovering from a back injury sustained while playing county cricket earlier this year.
