PCB Postpones U19 Championship Cup: Official Statement

PCB Cancels National Men’s U19 Championship and Cup for an Unknown Period

The National Men’s U19 Championship and Cup under PCB PCB has reported due to one or the other reasons which are unavoidable that the championship and cup has been postponed. Three major youth tournaments, the U19 Championship, to be held from today, and the U19 Cup, which is planned for September 14, have been postponed.

In a brief statement, the PCB confirmed the story, they wrote, “The National U19 Championship and Cup, which were to commence today as well as the Cup scheduled on September 14 are postponed due to certain unavoidable circumstances, PCB will announce new dates for the said tournament soon.”

Both tournaments were initially designed to take 61 days with 98 matches for format of each tournament. Where as, the previous round’s three day games were to be replaced by one day games. It was the finals: October 22 — one-day event; November 6-9 — three-day event. The locations for the finals were still being scrutinized.

There were eighteen teams and they were placed in three different groups, matches were played through single league system up to the 12th of October. The first two sets of matches were to have been played in one-day –elections starting from Oct. 16 and up to Oct. 22 and three-day elections for the two top teams from Oct. 25 to Nov. 9.
