She wasn’t alone in the fight; Pakistan’s captain Fatima Sana played a key role, smashing 37 off just 24 balls with five boundaries. Together, they added a 75-run partnership that brought Pakistan within reach of the target. However, with 30 runs still needed in the last over, the team could only add 19 more, falling just short.

Marizanne Kapp was the star for South Africa, grabbing two crucial wickets for just 22 runs. Along with some tight bowling from her teammates, they managed to keep Pakistan from crossing the finish line.

Earlier, after being asked to bat first, South Africa’s opener Tazmin Brits anchored their innings with a composed 56 not out from 63 balls, lacing it with five boundaries. Her steady performance helped South Africa reach a total of 132-4.

For Pakistan, Sadia Iqbal was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 34 runs, but the hosts couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities.
