Ahead of the upcoming T20I and ODI series against India, the Sri Lanka national cricket team will be without pacer Dushmantha Chameera due to injury. This setback comes as a significant blow to the team as they prepare for these crucial white-ball matches.
Sri Lanka Cricket is set to announce Chameera’s replacement soon. Prominent Sri Lankan journalist Rex Clementine shared the news on ‘X,’ stating, “Dushmantha Chameera ruled out of India series with injury. Replacement to be named shortly.” It is anticipated that Asitha Fernando, who excelled in the Lanka Premier League final, might step in for the injured Chameera. Fernando’s impressive performance, including three wickets in the final, contributed to the Jaffna Kings’ victory over the Galle Marvels.
The three T20Is will be held on July 27, July 28, and July 30 at Pallekele International Stadium, followed by a series of three ODIs starting August 2 in Colombo.
