CPL 2024 encounter between Antigua Falcons and St Kitts in a thrilling action.
Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir proved to be the essential elements that helped the Falcons win against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the ongoing CPL 2024. This was Antigua’s back-to-back victories after a scorching start with four losses on the trot. On the other hand, St Kitts suffered their fifth successive defeat despite winning their first game in the competition.
Amir’s first overs were very effective, getting rid of both St Kitts opening batsmen for low scores. Kyle Mayers tried hard to keep a good run rate during the powerplay but got out just before it finished. Rilee Rossouw had a tough time batting, while Wanindu Hasaranga helped with a quick performance before getting out. The real hero was, however, Mikyle Louis for St. Kitts, who took over in the last five overs with his quick-fire half-century that included five sixes to enable his team to reach a commendable 153/8.
Antigua were good in the chase. Plenty of boundaries coming from Brandon King and Justin Greaves as they raced to 50 in the first four overs. St Kitts tried to claw their way back into the game, four wickets for Hasaranga being instrumental to such an effort. The Antigua middle order folded from 80/1 to 99/6. But Imad Wasim and Roshon Primus did well under pressure, and the Falcons won the game with just two balls remaining.
