India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya was named Player of the Series after India’s dominant 133 run victory over Bangladesh in Hyderabad on Saturday. The win ensured an India whitewash of 3-0 in the T20I series. Hardik has come good with his all-round show during series — he scored 118 runs with a strike rate of 222.64 and took a crucial wicket to help India win second T20I in Delhi while picking up that brilliant catch while dancing on joy in the field.
But his off-field moment for Hardik won over social media more than his stats. A picture taken on Saturday went viral with Hardik Patel at the boundary line taken time to help a ballboy snap a selfie with him. While None of this was to plan, Hardik helped the young fan make a fresh attempt, and on the second one they struck the selfie, a heartwarming moment.
Hardik showed he was not just good on the field. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir also drew his praise for nurturing a positive atmosphere in the team, something he said was crucial to their series victory.
