Gautam Gambhir is expected to take over as the Indian team’s new head coach.

Before the T20 World Cup 2024, which is set to take place in America and the West Indies next month, the former Indian cricket player Gautam Gambhir is expected to have a significant influence on indian team’s new head coach.

Rahul Dravid’s time as coach of the forthcoming tournament is drawing to an end, therefore timing of this possible appointment is important. According to sources, Dravid may not be able to reapply for the position, which may allow for a seamless handoff to a new head coach.

Although there hasn’t been any official word yet, it’s thought that Gambhir applied early enough to be considered for the coaching position, with Monday, May 27 being the deadline.

Both Gambhir and the BCCI emphasize in their frequent correspondence how important it is to advance the goals of Indian cricket. Insider information claims that Gambhir and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah frequently discuss their common view that coaching decisions ought to be strongly influenced by a sense of patriotism.

Gambhir has been in discussions with close friends, such as Shah Rukh Khan, co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), about taking on the coaching role.

His qualifications for the head coach job are further strengthened by his present position overseeing KKR during the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), where the team won their third title.
