Rishabh Pant Joins India vs Bangladesh Test

India vs Bangladesh Test series:

India recall Rishabh Pant for the Test series against Bangladesh: Full squad announced.

India have recalled wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant for the first game of the two-match home Test series against Bangladesh, starting on September 19 in Chennai. This is Pant’s return to Test cricket since his bad car accident in December 2022.

He has recovered well and played strongly in the IPL.
Pant scored 446 runs in 13 IPL matches this season and has made an emphatic return. The left-handed opener had been part of India’s T20 World Cup-winning team and played one ODI in Sri Lanka before taking part in the Duleep Trophy opener.

His last Test match had come just before his accident, and now he makes it back to the Indian team with fellow wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel.

India’s Team for the First Test:
Rohit Sharma (Captain)
Yashasvi Jaiswal
Shubman Gill

Dhruv Jurel (Wicketkeeper)

The third fast bowler was Bengal bowler Akash Deep, along with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. Akash played his first game against England this year and had a pretty good game, having taken nine wickets in the Duleep Trophy.

Mukesh Kumar was not picked, while a new left-arm fast bowler, Yash Dayal, was selected in his place. Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar, and KS Bharat have also not been picked, who took part in the England series. The middle-order is delighted to see KL Rahul back.

He had missed four matches in India’s last Test series against England due to a leg injury. Sarfaraz Khan also managed to hold on to his spot, coming off three fifties in his first series.
